Key components of the CoSMoS™ Concrete Strength Monitoring System

1. Sensors: The heart of the system

At the core of the CoSMoS™ system are its advanced sensors, designed to be embedded directly into the concrete.  These sensors measure the key variables critical to monitoring the concrete´s setting evolution, providing accurate, real-time data for informed decision-making.

Once installed, the sensors remain within the structural element, making them a consumable part of the system. Each sensor is equipped with a copper probe, a 6-meter cable to accommodate standard installation needs, and an IP67-rated connector for reliable communication with the transmission device.

For large-scale civil engineering projects, we offer sensors with extended length of up to 100 meters, ensuring flexibility and adaptability for any construction challenge.

These robust and precise sensors play a pivotal role in delivering the insights needed to optimize construction processes while maintaning structural integrity and sustainability.

CoSMoS™ Transmission Module (CTM): Seamless wireless data transfer

The CoSMoS™ Transmission Module (CTM) is the wireless powerhouse responsible for transmitting data collected from within the concrete to the CoSMoS™ platform. This essential component ensures real-time monitoring and actionable insights throughout the construction process.

While the sensors are embedded within the formwork, typically secured to the reinforcement, their cables connects seamlessly to CTMs positioned outside of the structure. This design not only minimizes interference with on-site activities but also allows the transmission devices to be reused accross multiple projects, enhancing cost-effectiveness and sustainability.

Enginered for durability, CoSMoS™ transmission device are built to perform in even the harshest environments. With a communication range spanning hundred of meters, the CTMs reliably transmit data at regular intervals, typically every 30 minutes, though this frequency can be customized to meet specific project needs.

The CTM exemplifies efficiency and resilience, making it a key enabler of smarter, more connected construction sites.

CoSMoS™ Gateway: Bridging the gap between data and insights

The gateway is a pivotal component of the CoSMoS™ system, responsible for receiving data transmitted by multiple devices (CTMs) installed across the worksite via a secure private network. Once gathered, the gateway forwards this data to the CoSMoS™ servers, where its processed and displayed on our intuitive application, ready for analysis and decision-making.

Data transfer to the internet is seamless, whether through a mobile 4G network or WiFi, depending on the project´s connectiviy options. Additionally, each gateways is equipped with a GPS antenna that pinpoints the exact location of the project. This feature enhances predictive accuracy by integrating site-specific wheather reports, further optimizing construction planning and execution.

The CoSMoS™ gateway ensures a reliable flow of information, transforming raw data into actionable insights for smarter, more efficient construction.
